Directions to Our Practice
If you aren’t familiar with our location in Peabody, which is in Essex County, we can help using a few notable starting points in town as a reference. For anyone coming to us from the direction of the Peabody Institute Library, take Lowell St northwest, around a couple of bends, until you reach the right turn for Prospect St. Follow Prospect St. north, then turn right onto Essex Ln, then immediately right again onto Essex Center Dr. We’re fourth on the right from there, before you get to the post office.
If you’re coming to us from the opposite direction, somewhere like Sky Zone Trampoline Park (hopefully not due to a dental emergency that happened there), get onto Commonwealth Ave heading southwest, then turn right onto Endicott St, then left onto Sylvan St. Stay on it when it turns into Prospect St, then turn onto Essex Ln and finish just like people coming from the direction of the library, turning right onto Essex Center Dr and then find us fourth on the right.
Peabody’s History
Our dental practice is nestled in a city with a rich history and enduring spirit. This community found its roots within Salem around 1626, and was originally called Northfield. In 1868, the city adopted the name Peabody in honor of the renowned philanthropist George Peabody. Peabody’s history in Essex County is also intertwined with the Salem Witch hysteria, as Giles Corey, the only person believed to have been pressed to death by stones during that dark period, had a farm in Peabody, and his resting place can be found near the serene Crystal Lake.
Initially, Peabody thrived as a farming community, but with the abundance of nearby streams, it evolved into a hub for mills and the epicenter of New England’s leather industry. However, as time passed, the closure of the tanneries dealt a significant blow to the local economy. The early 20th century saw Peabody embrace the automobile revolution, marking a new chapter in its history.
