Dr. Peter Hjorth
After earning his Swedish dental degree in 1980 at Lund’s University School of Dental Medicine, Malmö, Sweden, Dr. Peter Hjorth came to the U.S. in 1983 to learn and experience dentistry “the American way.” He completed a 2-year post-graduate Family Dentistry Residency at the John Dempsey Hospital School of Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut in 1985 and earned his DMD degree two years later. He opened his first dental practice in Peabody, Massachusetts in 1987. Dr. Hjorth has served as a pillar of excellence in dentistry on the North Shore for many years and has been a very active member of the Massachusetts Dental Society. After 40 years of private-practice and 30-plus years as the face of Hjorth Dental Group, he decided to take a step back from his full-time activity of dentistry to spend more time with his family and grandchildren. In October of 2021, Drs. Hannah Noyes and Madeline Niziak purchased his practice, sparking the establishment of Dental Arts on Essex. Dr. Hjorth continues to practice part-time with Drs. Noyes & Niziak (“Dr. N”), with a focus in implant dentistry.
